1 Bigz Die You’ll Want to Buy!

I just got the Fancy Favor Bigx XL Die with my last order and I just had to play with it today!

I keep imagining all of the things you could create with this Bigz Die(#115965)!  I wish I had snapped a picture of the scraps because the top of the box has a really fancy wavy edge.  That leaves a scrap with the wavy fancy edge on a 12″ strip.  You know that’s going into the border of a scrapbook page!

Here is what the paper itself looks like when you cut it out using the bigz die.

It automatically scores when you cut it.  I would have liked the score marks to be more distinct, so I will use a shim of some sort the next time I try it, until I place my next order and purchase the Extended Premium Crease Pad (#117630).    Sometimes all you need is a sheet of card stock or two to act as a shim and give just a little more pressure.

Remember with the Bigz XL Dies you will need the Extended Cutting Pads (#113478).  It takes a 6 x 12″ piece of card stock and is designed to cut only one piece at a time.

How pretty would this look with a handle or two?  I can’t wait to make some Easter Baskets with this and some treat bags for Valentine’s Day!  It would also make lovely favor bags as well.

You may have noticed that I decorated it with two sprigs of “Mistletoe” and 3 red berries!  The mistletoe is made using the Blossom Petals Builder (#121808), the 1/2″ Circle Punch (#119869) and the Square Lattice Embossing Folder (#119976).  Cut and emboss the medium petal from the punch, emboss it and then cut three partial circles from each side of the petal.  You might need to trim it a little to make it pointier!

This picture is a little blurry, but I wanted to show you the technique.

I used the Be of Good Cheer Designer Series Paper, an old sentiment from a retired set and the Label Collection Framelits (#125598).  I also used my pearls colored with permanent marker as shown in this Two Minute Quick Tip Video:
