2 Card Layouts With One Sweet Digital Image Including A Shaker Card

By | 08/21/2020

I have a two-for one for you today!  I have this sweet little digital image from Kinda Cute by Patricia Alvarez.  This is the girl with flowers and balloons digi and she was just to sweet to only color once!!

I just love the digital images that Patricia Alvarez creates.  They are so sweet and often quirky because Patricia has a really fun sense of humor and it often shows up in her images!

I created a shaker card…I know!  I’m not a huge fan, but I saw a new technique for not making a mess with those sequins and I had to try it!

I was trying to practice light hair and light skin.  I find darker skin shades and hair colors so much easier to color than the light ones!

This little girl was printed on my Brother all-in-one ink jet printer.  I just insert some white cardstock and then print the images which I’ve added to a word document.  This allows me to resize them and move them around on the paper.

Copic Color Combinations:

Dress: Y11,13,17,19

Hair: YR 27, 24 Y26, 21

Skin: E13,11,51, and E04

Flowers: RV19,06,10 and YG05

Balloon: BV08,04,02,00

Shoes: N4,2

Grass: G67,63,61Two cards including a shaker card from one sweet digital image

I also used my ALL TIME FAVORITE patterned paper!  This is from Catherine Pooler’s Flutters and Blooms patterned paper pack.  She also has a Canvo journal with this pattern as the cover. (Of course I bought one!)

The sequin mix is also from Catherine Pooler and this is the mission sequin mix which coordinates with the paper.  Don’t you love it when companies do that?!

The background behind the girls is Altenew Iceberg ink blended on with a blender brush and the MFT Cloud stencil.  I love this stencil.  I use it all the time.

I also used a Judikins acetate sheet so that I could mount this sweet girl.  I actually cut her out with my Brother Scan-n-Cut.  I’m loving this machine and it is so easy to use. I bought it because digital images don’t come with coordinating dies and I’m creating with a lot of digital images lately.  I also think the price of dies has become astronomical compared to the stamp sets.  I figure that not buying 8 or 10 coordinating die sets will actually pay for this machine and make it worth it to me.  Plus then I won’t have to store all those dies with the stamp sets.  It takes just as much time to use the Brother Scan-n-Cut to die cut an image as it does to find the die and use my old Big Shot!

Here is the second card that I created:

I used my leftover patterned paper from the first card to create a cute striped look on the card base.  I also die cut this out with my Gemini Junior and my MFT Wonky Stitched Ovals.  This has a watercolor wash around the girl using the Altenew Iceberg ink and some green Copics for the just creating grass blades with flicks.  The sentiments are from Altenew’s Just Because Builder stamp set.
