3 Background Ideas That Will Step Up Your Cards

By | 05/18/2014

I have 3 background ideas that will step up your cards!  These are so simple and they add a WOW! factor to your cards.

The original card that I created was very clean and simple.

I like this card just the way it is.  The images stamped in Tangerine Tango are from the Project Life Point and Click stamp set that you can get online now at mystampingstore.com.  I’ve also used several of the Project Life Cards and Labels Framelits for this card series.  That is also immediately available at mystampingstore.com!

All of the sentiments that you see are a SNEAK PEEK at the Something To Say stamp set that will be available after noon MT on June 2 in the new 2014-2015 Annual Catalog!  (Let me just say…fun fonts and fabulous sayings!)

For card 2, I stepped up the card by using the Positively Chevron Background Stamp directly on the card base.  This is stamped in Night of Navy ink on Night of Navy card stock.  It’s a WOW factor and look at how well this background coordinates with the Point and Click stamp set!!!!

For card 3, I used the Arrows Embossing Folder and the Big Shot to emboss a Night of Navy mat cut 1/4″ smaller than the card base.  This tone on tone effect is one of the latest trends.  I’ve popped the embossed mat up on dimensionals to give the card more texture and dimension.

Yet another WOW and so simple to do!

For card 4, I created my own background by placing several stamps from the Point and Click set onto my clear block and stamping my own unique background.stamping imperfection 3 background ideas to step up your cards

I like this technique because it makes the card all mine.  It’s my own design (or lack thereof…) and it is truly unique.

You will notice that the card centers all all slightly different.  I wanted to show you different framelit shapes and a punch idea.  Check out the video below for the card construction:
