My goal today was to create a set of quick and easy one layer cards from the Bloomin’ Marvelous stamp set and the Sycamore Street Ribbons and Buttons.
I love this stamp set. I am truly going to miss playing with it when Sale-A-Bration is over. It has such versatility. I’ve made small 3 x 3″ gift cards along with a variety of 4-1/4 x 5-1/2″ cards. I love the sentiments included in this set. I feel like they could fit so many occasions or they even fit just an ordinary day to let someone know you are thinking of them. It’s a set to create to have on hand when you just want to send a thoughtful card to someone.
I let the ribbon and button colors inspire my color choices today. I have to say, of all of the free items in the SAB brochure, I have loved the Sycamore Street Ribbons and Buttons the most. What an unbelievable deal that is! 3 rolls of ribbon and 36 buttons in 3 colors. I finally just used up my roll of Island Indigo ribbon! I feel like I’ve used these ribbons and buttons on almost every project I’ve made since SAB started at the end of January! I honestly can’t believe how much ribbon you get on a roll and how beautiful the ribbon is from Stampin’ Up! There is just no comparison to the ribbon that I’ve purchased elsewhere. No more clearance bin ribbon for me! I’m hooked!
All of the cards were created on Whisper White card stock. I used Tangerine Tango, Rich Razzleberry, Island Indigo and Pool Party inks. I used a large Post-It note to cover the top half of my card to create a mask so I had a nice straight line to place my ribbon on. These were very simple cards to make. They are perfect beginner projects.
These are also perfect to have on hand if you need a quick hostess gift as well. You could create a simple folder out of DSP or even just place them in a cello bag and tie it with some ribbon. Everyone loves to get a set of cards to have on hand. Include some Stampin’ Up! envelopes as well and it’s a perfect little gift!
