I remember a long time ago, Oprah had a guest on her show who was talking about raising children and what good parenting looks like. The guest said that it’s our jobs as parents to make kids feel special and that every time your child comes into the room you should show them how happy you are to see them. (It actually seemed the other way around to me…I loved the days when I walked into the room and they screamed in delight and threw themselves into my arms! I was just as delighted to squeeze them too.)
