#birthdaysrock!

My niece is turning 18 tomorrow and I needed an appropriate birthday card to send her.  I thought I might try the “Cool Aunt” way with a trendy card…and a check, of course.

Yes…I’m using a hashtag and not calling it a pound sign.  I have the arrows, the baker’s twine, the pop of color and a pretty clean and simple card.  Cool, no?

Stampin’ Up! came out with some fun and trendy stamp sets in the last catalog and I do find that I can’t resist using them.  I just love the simplicity that they offer.

The background that I’ve used is the Sheer Perfection Designer Vellum that I got for free by placing an order of $50 online at mystampingstore.com!  It’s only available until the end of March.  Don’t miss getting this fabulous set of printed vellum for free!

  • Basic Black cut at 1-5/8 x 3-5/8″
  • Stacked With Love Designer Series Paper cut at 1-1/2 x 3-1/2″
  • Whisper White scrap about 3 x 3″

My card was designed using this week’s Paper Craft Crew sketch.  I love the weekly challenge of these sketches.

You can see that I eliminated a couple of elements since I was using fairly busy papers.  I just couldn’t resist using these great papers!  I love making the designer paper the major portion of my card with the stamped image being a small pop of color on the card to draw your attention to it.
