Challenge YOUrself February Inspiration Challenge

By | 02/07/2020

Selecting who my hero would be for this month’s Challenge Yourself Inspiration Challenge was easy.  Finding a picture of the two of us together in the midst of moving was a whole other story!

Thank goodness for technology!

This month’s Challenge YOUrself challenge is an inspiration challenge.  The inspiration is Mariah Carey’s song, “Hero”.

This is a scrapbooking challenge and the hardest part is that YOU must be in one of the photos.

We are usually the ones taking the pictures, so it’s time to put ourselves into the stories in our scrapbooks!

My hero is my daughter, Katie.  She is one of the kindest, most thoughtful and most unassuming people that I know. She is also hard working and ridiculously creative and brilliant.  She just completed her PhD in Robotics at the University of Michigan where she will be an assistant professor next year at this time after finishing her post-doctorate at Georgia Tech.

We could not be prouder of her.  She’s an adventurous soul and very relaxing to spend time with.  Just don’t play her in Scrabble.  You won’t win!

Challenge Yourself My Hero Dr. Katie

Please pardon my photography.  I’m just getting my craft room set up in our new house and I have not yet got a photography space set up with good lighting.  I do have all the crafty stuff I brought with me unpacked and almost organized.  I just didn’t bring more than the basics with me to get started.

This fabulous paper is from One Canoe Two and is called Willow.  I found it at the most fabulous Joann Fabrics and Crafts store that I have ever been in.  This set was on clearance and had the wonderful foil letters that I used in the title.  I love the color combination of the corals, pinks and greens with that copper foil.  The enamel dots are from American Crafts and they are called Shimelle Box of Crayons.  I love the sparkle and the foil touches on the page.

I did manage to print two photos on my little Cannon Ivy Printer from my phone.  The top picture is Katie out celebrating with friends after successfully defending her PhD thesis.  The bottom picture is one of me and Katie when she was only 6 months old!

Keeping the page simple and small at 6 x 8″ so that it fits in my One Little Word album.

I’ll be back tomorrow to share some pictures of my new little crafty space.  Things are coming together.  I’m just wondering when that relaxing retired feeling kicks in!

Thank you for stopping by!
