Create A Masculine Card Using Altenew’s Amazing Arrow Bundle

By | 07/09/2020

If you have been following my blog for a while, you know that I love taking classes and doing the virtual workshops.  I find it inspiring and I love the virtual thing because it’s like crafting with friends from the comfort of your own home.  I love the classes and workshops because I will never stop being eager to learn new things and it just fills me up.  It refreshes my soul!

I recently took Altenew’s Amazing Arrows Virtual Workshop.  I purchase the Amazing Arrows Creativity Kit and got the workshop for free.  The kit included two stamp and die sets along with an inspiration guide.  I will use the Point it Out set for my scrapbooking and I’m looking forward to creating some of my own ephemera to add to my layouts with that set.

We used the Follow Your Arrow stamp and die set in the class to create two cards inspired by the inspiration samples.  I enjoyed making them but decided that I wanted to make a couple of my own cards with this same set.

I used the third card in the inspiration guide which did some masking to create a vertical ink blended panel.  They used a resist technique by heat embossing the stamped arrows in white.

I was looking to create a deeper color scheme so I decided to ink blend and then stamp the arrows in black.  I love this color combination.

I masked off the spot where I wanted my sentiment and then masked above and below where I wanted the ink blending to go.  I used my Taylored Expressions blender brushes and Altenew’s Teal Cave Ink to get this gorgeous deep color. I removed the tape and added some 1/8″ double sided tape to the edges of the ink blending along the sentiment strip.  I stamped the sentiment in Versa Mark and then added Wow! Black embossing powder to the sentiment and the tape strips.  I heat set this and I love the effect.  I saw a quick little video on Instagram or Facebook where someone did that little tape strip idea in one of those little minute videos.  Needless to say, I had to try it!

I added some black splatters and black enamel dots to complete the card.
