Creating Quick and Easy Cloth Gift Bags With Your Favorite Stamps

By | 01/28/2019

I could not resist purchasing the Simon Says Stamp Limited Edition Card Kit this past month.  It was packed full of crafty goodness, but it was the adorable stamp set with hedgehogs, a sloth, some fox and a racoon that captured my interest.

I started with the sloth!Stamping Imperfection Quick and Easy Reusable Stamped Gift Bags

I stamped him out in Simon Says Stamp Intense Black ink which is perfect for watercoloring and alcohol markers.

I tried to make him look very furry as I was coloring him in with my Copics.  This is one of the techniques that I learned at MyCreativeScoop and that I have been practicing.  My original plan was to do a die cutting technique and create a distress oxide blended background for him.

But darn!  After I spent so much time and effort coloring him and being pretty pleased with my result, I couldn’t risk messing up a die cutting technique.  I added a wash with Catherine Pooler’s Stone Blue ink and added some splatters at the same time.

I kept it simple with a white embossed sentiment from the stamp set, which is called The Sweetest.

The heart embellishments are from the HAI Heart Drops that I have been using for the last couple of weeks.

I popped that up on craft foam and added it to a card base.  I love him!

Then I moved on to the Hedgehogs:

Again I used my Copics and then fussy cut these guys out. I popped them on to some foam tape, added the same heat embossed sentiment and hearts and attached it all to a piece of white card stock.

I added them to a piece of the patterned paper from the kit (this is from Pebbles) that I cut 4 x 6″.  This went on to the white gift bag that came in the kit and I will be adding a treat for my son for Valentine’s Day.

I’m having fun with the Copics!  And I’m embracing the imperfections!

I’m entering this one into the TGIF Challenge this week:  Pick a Pattern

I LOVE striped patterned paper.

For my final piece, I created a stamped cloth gift bag.  The kit had a very nice red cloth drawstring bag that was very easy to stamp on with my StazOn ink.Stamping Imperfection Quick and Easy Reusable Stamped Gift Bags

I create a quick video to share how I did this and I included what else came in the kit…I have so much more to play with!

Supply List:  The kit is no longer available, but the parts are!  You can get the stamp set and a set of 5 red cloth bags.  I will definitely be ordering more of those!

Love the background designer series paper you picked for your card! It warms up the whole card, without being too busy. Beautiful choice!!! Love your card. Thanks for joining TGIFC this week!
