Does it need to be perfect or do you need it by Tuesday?

Quick All Occasion Card

I remember when I was first trying to make video lessons to use for my students, someone asked, “Does it need to be perfect, or do you need it by Tuesday?”  That was an important lesson for me to learn.  There are some things in life that need to be perfect, but stamping isn’t one of them.  (Neither are video lessons!) Stamping should be fun and relaxing.  Let go of the perfection.  More often than not, the person you are making that card or scrapbook for will be so delighted that you made them something so personal, they won’t be looking at the flaws.  My house is filled with things my kids made throughout their school years.  I love every single thing they made.  Most of the items are still on display!  Pictures are framed, the ceramic stuff is on the mantle, the piano, the china cabinet, the dresser…need I say more?  (Although, I did move the ceramic castle to my daughter’s bedroom…sorry Katie!  But what does one do with a ceramic castle no matter how well made?!)

My new mantra: If it isn’t perfect, you know it is handmade!  Create, relax and enjoy the delight of the person you give your creation to!  Why did I digress about perfection?  As I look at the picture, everything looks crooked to me!  I still love the card. I love the Vintage Wallpaper embossing folder; I love the Betsy’s Blossom flowers; I love the In Colors of Gumball Green and Midnight Muse; I even love the scalloped detail on the bottom and the rhinestones and ribbon!!  It was another quick card with a lot of great details.  I also tried it in Summer Starfruit, Gumball Green and Primrose Petals.

A different color combination!

And…I’m going to be perfectly honest!  The only reason this one has a sentiment is because I tried to see if I could stamp directly onto the embossed white card stock.  That would be “NO!”.  Hence a layered sentiment from Loving Thoughts!  All is well!

Thank you for visiting!
