Experimenting With Background Techniques

By | 10/08/2018

One of my most watched videos is the video that I created about making snowbanks.  I get asked by a lot of people about how I made it look like falling snow on the card.

At that time I used a stamp set called Gorgeous Grunge which has long since retired and is no longer available for purchase.  I’ve been in pursuit of some new techniques for creating falling snow techniques with my you.

I’ve come up with several ideas and created a bunch of backgrounds today.  It was so much fun to experiment with some new mediums that I had not yet explored and also some stamp sets and stencils that I have not played with enough.

I will have a video at some point this week.  I have to cobble it together and do a voice over because my poor old camera keep quitting on me.  Time for research to find a new one.

I also worked on a card using the Hedgehog Hollow Holiday 2018 Card Kit since I have been invited to be a guest designer for the month of October!  I will be a guest blogger/designer on the 14th and then again later in the month.  I’m very excited about this and I have been busy working on some cards that I hope are unique enough to be worthy of a guest designer!  Stamping Imperfection Backgrounds

This is what my desk looked like after a day of crafting and after I cleaned it up.  Aren’t those backgrounds pretty?!  Just wait until you see the cards that I make with them!  I have one special background that I won’t be sharing until the 14th when I do the guest designing blog post.

I experimented with all kinds of materials today and then came up with more ideas after I was done!  Phew!  I have a lot to share with you about snowfall backgrounds and galaxy sky backgrounds.

Stamping Imperfection BackgroundsI hope it feels like the Northern Lights because I’m using a cute little Eskimo stamp set.

I have to say that I’ve been putting good craft room organizing systems in place since I moved over a year ago and it makes cleaning up so quick and easy.  I just love the Stamp-n-Storage stuff that I have.  Just a reminder that their sale ends today at midnight.  You can see my ink and marker storage on my desk.  I can find everything, I can reach everything, and I can easily put everything away.  I love it!

Thank you for stopping by! I’m off to finish my lessons for my classes tomorrow. Crafting time is over for the day!  I hope you find time for yourself!
