Finding Enough Craft Supplies To Get Stamping!

By | 03/01/2017

I have to say that the last 5 months have been some of the most stressful months of my entire life!  Buying one house, selling another and packing up 32 years worth of stuff (a high percentage of which is craft stuff!), really takes it’s toll.

In between closing on the “new” house and then the old house, my son fell and broke his back.  He’s fine, thankfully.  A back brace and some rest are helping him heal.  But…phew!  That really made the last two weeks a true challenge to make it through.

I’m delighted to say that we are all moved out of the old house and into the new one.  Our old house sold fast…the first people who looked at it bought it.   Our new house is a definite fixer upper and it needs a lot of love.  I am delighted to say that it only has 4 rooms to take care of.

It does have a great basement with an office space and a craft room space all ready to be loved and used.

Thankfully, it also has a good sized basement, attic and garage.  Did I mention the 32 years worth of stuff?

Here is my craft area so far…this is progress compared to what it looked like on Sunday!

The movers packed this room with furniture and boxes like they were packing a moving truck.  Everything went into this one space.  We cleared out the boxes into the other part of the basement and moved furniture around.  I’ve started unpacking one box at a time.  I’ve unearthed enough stuff to make a few cards.  I have yet to find my stamp pads, but I did find a few Stampin’ Spots!

I actually created a card for my Paper Craft Crew design team challenge.  Happily it is a tic-tac-toe challenge this week.  Since I’m digging out I decided to choose 3 or 4 things even though I didn’t make a straight line in any direction.

I used a loosely interpreted collage, lace, natural element and insects.  You can see that I used stamps from 3 sets:  Thankful Thoughts, Gift from the Garden and the Perpetual Birthday Calendar sets.  I used Dapper Denim, Calypso Coral and Pear Pizzazz ink spots to make a little thank you card.

I was happy to find a package of the note cards and envelopes.  I could only find one box of card stock.  Hopefully the rest will turn up within the next couple of unpacking days.
