Garden Silhouette In Mixed Media Pastels

Sometimes when it’s time to create a card for one of the design teams that I’m on, I don’t always feel the sketch for the week.  When that happens, I pull out my mixed media materials and decide what I can use in a new way with the sketch.

Here is my card for this week’s Paper Craft Crew sketch challenge:

I used my Vicki Boutin Rose Gold Glaze to add the strip below the rectangle piece on the sketch.  I LOVE the color and shine that this added to the card.  It also gave the card some texture and I love that.   This is the first time that I’ve used this product and I really loved how creamy and smooth it was to add to the card base with a palette knife.  Once this dried, I was able to put the card together.

I created my own background paper with the Garden Silhouette florals using the Antique Linen Distress Oxide Ink.  I love this particular color because it is soft and subtle.  I goes with everything!

I stamped the vase in Altenew’s Iceberg blue ink and then used my Altenew Alcohol Markers B002, WG01, WG03, and WG05 to add some details to make the jar look round and add the rings.  I added some white jelly roll pen to create highlights on the jar.  The flower is stamped in Victorian Velvet Distress Oxide and the stem is added with G804 and G554 alcohol markers.

The sentiment is stamped in black and comes from the same Garden Silhouette stamp and die set from Altenew.  This is one of my favorite stamp and die sets and I use it all the time.
