Getting Organized For The New Year

By | 12/14/2017

As you know, I have been slowly working my way through boxes and home improvement projects for the last year.

Combine that with the parathyroidectomy I had at the end of October and I will tell you that I am absolutely exhausted!

I decorated the mantle and included two small pre-lit trees on each side of the fireplace, added a few decorations outside and called it a day.

I do not have the energy to unpack the tree and ornaments and then clean it all up and repack it all.  It is not happening!

Sometimes simple is better and this is one of those years!

I was excited to receive a RAK (random act of kindness) from another Stampin’ Up! demonstrator in the form of a handmade card!

Happily, it uses a set that I did not purchase knowing that my crafting time would be limited and trying to exercise some self control by not ordering everything in the catalog!

How cute is this card created by Diane Gardner of North Carolina?

Thank you Diane!  You brightened a longggg week!  Diane has used the Ready for Christmas stamp set with the Christmas Thinlets dies that you can get as a bundle to save 10% at mystampingstore.com!

This set is retiring and is available only while supplies last!

I don’t know if you can see it in this picture, but she also embossed the crumb cake piece with the Quilt Top embossing folder from the Quilted Christmas suite.  I used that stamp and die set to make yesterday’s card which you can check out HERE.

I thought I would share my living room decorations just to show you that I really don’t see why a tree is necessary.  It is quite festive!living_room_christmas

Yes…that’s a Hallmark Christmas movie!

Here is my porch…I’ve since added some lighted baskets on the light pole in front of this which you can’t see here, but I do have a few lights on at night to add to the festive feel.  (They are solar too!)

The sled and the skates are most definitely antiques, but they are mine.  They hold so many happy memories of sled riding and skating with my sister, aunts, uncles and my parents.  Oh the stories they could tell of cold, fun days living at the lake by the farm!

I picked the red bench up at Big Lots in the spring and I’m so happy that I got the red bench.  It’s perfect for so many holidays.
