Giving Thanks With A Fall Card

By | 10/05/2016

One of my very favorite stamp and framelit sets is the Vintage Leaves set.  I think every stampers stash should include a beautiful set of leaf framelits.  It’s just a great go to set for the entire year.

Today I’m participating in two challenges:  Freshly Made Sketches and the Stamp, Ink and Paper Challenges.

I created my card using the Freshly Made Sketches sketch for this week, #257.  I chose the stamp set and die cut shape for the Stamp, Ink and Paper Challenge #68 which was a Card Maker’s Choice using our favorite stamp set, inks, colors and papers!

Stamping Imperfection Vintage Leaves

For this card, I used a Soft Suede card base cut at 4-1/4 x 11″, scored at 5-1/2″ and a Very Vanilla mat cut at 3-1/2 x 4″.  You can see that I’ve used one of the fabulous sentiments from the Basket of Wishes stamp set, also stamped in Soft Suede.  The leaf is stamped in Early Espresso on watercolor paper using Night of Navy, Old Olive, Pumpkin Pie, Cajun Craze, Crushed Curry and Rich Razzleberry reinkers with a quick watercolor technique using my Aqua Painter.

You can also see that I’ve used the marker flicking technique that I shared in a video a couple of months ago.  I’ve used the Pumpkin Pie and Crushed Curry markers to add an extra touch.  I love that flicking technique.  Whenever I think my card needs “something”, that’s what I use!

Check out the Freshly Made Sketch I used to create this card:

Freshly Made Sketches #257I love how clean and simple the sketch is and I tried to stick closely to that.  Sometimes it’s just too tempting to keep adding little details until your card is no longer all that clean and simple!  You can add details with a fun technique to add interest to your card.  Here I’ve used a watercoloring technique and the marker flicking technique to add just a little something special.

Here is the Stamp, Ink and Paper Challenge #68 that I used to create my card:
