Have You Participated In Any Great Challenges Lately?

By | 05/23/2017

I have to say that it felt great to sit down and make some cards today.  I also took another trip to that great bookstore in town!

I created a card for the design team at The Paper Craft Crew and decided to enter it in two other challenges.

This week is the Stamp, Ink, Paper challenge blog’s 100th challenge!  I’ve been to the actual Stamp, Ink, Paper store a couple of times so I wanted to take part in that challenge.  It is a Card Maker’s Choice challenge this week.

I am also entering this in the TCIF Challenge #tgifc108. I loved the layout on that challenge.

Here is my card:

Stamping Imperfection You've Got This

I love this giant floral image and the sentiment is so encouraging.  I used the Stampin’ Up! Watercolor Pencils to add the color to my image.  To create the affect that I wanted, I used Gamsol and a blending stub.  I have not used this technique before and I really like the way it came out.  I was much easier to control than the aqua painter or the blender pens.

I stamped this using StazOn ink directly onto the regular whisper white card stock.

I loved the pencils!  Again, this is the first time that I have used them because they have been packed in a box for the last 4 months.  They are smooth and easy to blend.

For the Paper Craft Crew Sketch, we have a Tic-Tac-Toe challenge.  I went down the center column and used a favorite stamp set, enamel embellishments and a floral image.

These are always fun challenges because you can really make your own card with a few pre-selected details!

The layout was all about the TGIF Challenge for the week.  This one is a layout sketch and I love this layout!  This is #tgifc108 !

By the way, I used a new Bermuda Bay ribbon from the soon to be released Stampin’ Up! catalog as a sneak peek!  Isn’t this a great layout?

Finally, the Stamp, Ink, Paper Challenge is a Card Maker’s Choice challenge to celebrate their 100th challenge!  Happy 100th Challenge!!!!  They are giving away blog candy, but you need to be in it to win it!  Why not participate?!

sip challenge 100By the way, if you live on Long Island or even NYC, you should stop by the Stamp, Ink, Paper craft store in West Babylon.  They have an amazing selection of goodies and there are classes you can take.  You can check out their Facebook page for details.  I love the variety of products you can browse through in the store.  I do have to say that now I live almost as far east on Long Island as you can get…I will have to make a day of it and go check out what’s new one day this summer!

Thank you for stopping by!
