Holiday Cuteness Two Card Challenge

By | 11/29/2016

We have been so busy the last 6 weeks going to open houses, finding our downsized empty nester dream house, painting and packing to get our house ready and then showing it to prospective buyers…I just have not had time to stamp or to blog!

I haven’t sent out a newsletter in ages.  My New Year’s resolution (assuming we are getting settled in to our new house as the new year begins), will be to get back to my daily blogging, stamping and sending biweekly newsletters.

The good news:  I have a whole new craft room to set up!!  Woohoo!  I will still be in the basement, but a fresh coat of paint and some easy to clean vinyl flooring to cover the cement floor and I’ll be good to go.  I’m not sure that my space will be bigger, but the dimensions will be better.  The room is more of a square than a very long narrow rectangle like I have now.  I can’t wait to get in there to paint, put in the flooring and then move my stuff in.

Of course, I am totally neglecting to consider that first it has to be all packed up and physically moved to the new space!  Details, details.  I’ll worry about that part when the dust settles on all the showings, inspections and financial details  are done.

For now, I have something great to dream about and plan!

Today’s Card:

Stamping Imperfection Paper Craft Crew 221

I created my card today for two challenges.  The first is for my Paper Craft Crew weekly design team challenge.  This week’s challenge was a color challenge.

Paper Craft Crew Sketch 221

I originally had dubious feelings about the crumb cake with the red and the green.   As soon as I pulled out my supplies, my doubts were assuaged!  I thought that crumb cake wouldn’t really work, but I made the crumb cake and the red the focus and just added a dab of the green.  I like the combination!  I’ve used real red and emerald envy.  You can also see that I have included whisper white since you get to uses it for “free” in a color challenge.  Usually with a color challenge you are allowed to pick one neutral.  I often pick white because it just gives that clean look to a card.

The other challenge that I’m participating in is the SUO Challenge #162: Holiday Cuteness!

My first thought was a teddy bear in a stocking.  I have so many fond memories of my childhood teddy bear.  I slept with him for at least 20 years!

When I had my daughter, someone gave her a teddy bear that has actually traveled the world with her. She slept with it and carried it around every place she went.  It has been to college (that teddy is an Ivy League bear) and now to graduate school working on a PhD.  It went to summer camp, running camp and several states for classes and internships.  That bear has traveled more miles than I have!

Needless to say…teddy was my first thought for Holiday Cuteness!  I think tradition and fond memories are everything during the holiday season!

Thank you so much for stopping by!
