I’m Addicted To Craft Kits!

By | 04/12/2018

It’s no secret that I love craft kits!  Now I’ve gone and tried and new one and I am totally hooked!

I received this month’s The Hedgehog Hollow Card Kit and it is awesome!  I’ve created a video to share the goodies and one of the projects that I’ve created with this kit.

I’ve actually been playing with coloring in faces with the only Copic markers that I have.  I actually bought a set of 6 Skin Tones to try out.  I used my Altenew Artist Markers for the rest of the coloring.

I’m not sure I’m ready to take the plunge into the Copic craze.  It’s a pricey investment and it is really hard to know where to start with them.  I’m thinking I might get a set of 3 in several colors so that I can practice blending with them.   I don’t know if I can commit to the entire collection…I think I could feed my family for a year or buy Copic markers.  Tough choice!

How cute are these adorable images?  You can tell that I am truly just beginning the alcohol marker coloring journey.

I think one of the things that made this kit such a great value besides that fabulous contents, is the fact that a few days after receiving it I got an email with 4 instructional videos.  I was not just given card ideas, I got videos teaching me techniques!

I’ve only watched the first video which was just shy of an hour of instruction.  The video gave us instruction on how to color faces, hair and dogs using Copic markers!!  How perfect for a newbie colorist like me!  (Don’t you love how I’m already calling myself a colorist?  I’m practicing every day!)

She gave a ton of tips the entire time and then the video was interspersed with short clips of a close up view of the technique she just demonstrated.  It was fantastic.  I plan to watch another one tomorrow!  What a treat.

The kit was $34.99 and when you see the video, you will see that the products in the box are worth more than that.  Given 4 instructional videos along with it and 3 coupon codes to use this month, I am loving this kit.

I decided to subscribe for 6 months to get a good idea of the variety of materials that I will be getting if I choose to continue subscribing.  As a result of being a subscriber and not just a one time purchaser, I also got a bonus item in my kit:  A full size 1oz. container of clear embossing powder.

I got a stamp set with a coordinating die set, 24 pieces of patterned paper, card stock, specialty card stock and some specialty paper.  I also got a die set for a lacey envelope kit and 4 hybrid ink cube to try.  I also got 2 pieces of candy!  I have materials that I will be able to use over and over, along with a good stash of papers and inks.

Needless to say, I’m happy with this kit and I can’t wait to get the next one!!

Thank you so much for stopping by today!  Happy crafting and remember to embrace the imperfections!
