Just How Do I Use That Giant Striped Grosgrain Ribbon?

Just how do I use that giant striped grosgrain ribbon?  It looks like it will make beautiful packaging bows for birthdays and holidays, but how can I use it on a card?

Here is just one fabulous example!

Stamping Imperfection Striped Ribbon Sumthin' Sumthin'

Tell me that’s not a WOW! detail for a card!

I love this ribbon.  It just screams nautical summer, but using it for a card seemed like a long shot!  When I finally had time to sit down and play with it, I came up with several ideas and this was by far my favorite!!!

Here, I’ve paired it with giant circles and kept a monochromatic color scheme going, using the Bermuda Bay as the accent color not as the main color of the card.  Using the Large Polka Dot embossing folder and the circle framelits really makes this card work.  I used large scale everything.  (Kinda like my living room.  I have a tiny living room and I used one giant sectional sofa with a big square coffee table in front of a fairly large fire place and that somehow works.  The bold colors help, but it’s also about scale!  Go bold or go home!)

I also think the simplicity of the card makes it work.  Two simple colors and just a few details.  Less is more.
