Layering Stamps: Rose Garden

By | 08/20/2018

Some layering stamps are easy to use and others take practice.  I just got a new Rose Garden layering stamp and die set from Catherine Pooler Designs and this one will take some practice.

The results will be worth it!  It’s a beautiful stamp set with some statement sentiments.

Stamping Imperfection Rose Garden Catherine Pooler

I won’t show you the pile of discarded attempts I made at layering these stamps!

These stamps each have 4 layers.  I love layered stamps and the effort that it takes to get it just right.  The depth of color and the image are always so pretty.

I kept the rest of the card simple because I spent so much time playing with the roses.  I just love the blues…I used Catherine Pooler inks: It’s a Boy, Fiesta Blue, Something Borrowed and Juniper Mist.  For the leaves I used Eucalyptus and did not use the layers on top.

I mixed some ink from my black ink pad with water using a round brush.  I tapped that on my finger to create the splashes.  I added a few iridescent bubbles from Studio Katia.

This is a clean and simple card.  I don’t know that it would count as one layer because I die cut the roses and leaves out and they are popped up with foam tape.

All in all, I really love these simple cards with just a couple of the beautiful layered florals and a fabulous sentiment.

With a little practice, you do get the hang of a particular stamp set and the layering gets easier.  It is definitely made easier with the MISTI!

Thank you for stopping by!  Cheers!
