Monochrome Color Challenge And Advanced Die Cutting

By | 01/24/2018

Today I’m participating in the SUO Challenge 192: Fun With Just One Color!  I decided to combine that with my homework from the advanced die cutting class I’m taking.

I can’t wait to try this technique with a range of colors and different shapes!!!

Stamping Imperfection Advanced Die Cutting

I just could not resist using these old Stampin’ Up! Layered Hearts thinlets for this technique.  I ended up with 2 cards and I like them both.

This was much easier than it looks, although it took some care with die placement and correctly adding the layers together at the end.

I’ve seen some really beautiful layered cover die sets that cost a small fortune to purchase.  This is sort of a way to fake the look with thinlets I already had in my stash.  The love script is from an old Stampin’ Up! thinlet set as well.  It’s like Throwback Wednesday here!

I’ve chosen to use Blushing Bride as my one color!

Here is a close up look at each card.  This is my favorite:

This card is actually made with the left over scraps from the real technique and I love the dimension this card has.

Here is the original card:

The front of this card actually has 5 layers of card stock, but the effect is pretty in person.  I’m not sure how well it is showing up in the photo.

I liked that I could stretch my thinlets with this technique and get two cards with no extra effort!

If I had more time I would use some of the newer products to make another couple of cards to show you with things that aren’t retired.

I think that the new Layered Hearts would work just as well as these.  I just love the shape of this one.

I also thing the Amazing script die that you can get for free during Sale-A-Bration with a $100 purchase online from mystampingstore.com would be so pretty here as well.

My sentiment is from the Lovely Friends stamp set.  It has gorgeous sentiments.

Well…time is short and I’m getting tired.  I can’t wait until this weekend so I can experiment with some more techniques and tools!!!  Honestly I just can’t wait to get home each night after work just to play in my craft room!

Thank you so much for stopping by.  I do appreciate that you take time from your busy day to visit.

I hope you find time to craft.  Remember to embrace the imperfections!
