Quick Tips to Make a Bunch of Cards Quickly!

It is December 16!  Do you still need to make your Christmas cards?  Let me show you how I made all of mine, assembly line style, in less than 2 hours!  Keep it simple!

My inspiration card!  I used Whisper White and Real Red Card Stock and ink, Be of Good Cheer Designer Series Paper (#126896), a Christmas sentiment and the Holiday Ornament Framelits (#127816).  I made a couple of changes to the assembly line cards I made.

I decided that I wanted to round the bottom corners of the top layer of Whisper White.  I also decided not to use the red card stock.  I just extended the DSP for that layer.  My goal was to use up my Christmas paper stash from last year!  I know that Stampin’ Up! will come out with a new fabulous set of Christmas papers next year and this will give me a guilt free reason to buy a bunch of that!  I’m always planning ahead!!!

You can see that I also used up some ribbon from my stash.  I did not love the ribbon and it didn’t match the cards perfectly.  I love when the papers, inks and ribbons all match.  I am trying to use up my stash of non-Stampin’ Up! stuff!  The quality of this ribbon is absolutely not the same as the Stampin’ Up! ribbon!!!

Tips to getting a lot of cards made in a short time:

  • Keep the card simple.  Minimize the layers and embellishments.
  • Use what you have in your stash.  We all have plenty of crafting stuff and we need to use it!  They will come out with new exciting stuff next year.  Make room for it!
  • Do all of your cutting at once with your Stampin’ Trimmer (#126889).  You will see in the video that I cut the bases and scored them, then cut the top white layers all at once and then finished my cutting by doing the DSP.  Then I cut the ornament framelit shapes and finally…stamped my sentiment and put it all together!

Here is a how to video.  If you pause and follow along, you can get your cards done along with me in less than 2 hours!
