Simon Says Stamp Fly Me Away May Card Kit

By | 06/06/2018

May dragged by for me with one stressful day after the other.  I am so happy to finally have time to sit down and make some cards!  It’s the beginning of June and I’m just playing with my May craft kits!

How crazy is that?!

I love the Simon Says Stamp Beautiful Flowers stamp set.  The kit that it a came in is called Fly Me Away and let me tell you that the kit has some fantastic goodies in it.  I love the stunning ModaScrap Fly and Scrap 6 x 6″ papers that came in the kit.  I was super excited to see that this week’s Paper Craft Crew sketch allowed me to use one of these fabulous papers.  I will be looking to purchase more of those papers!!

I love the soft watercolor look of that paper!  You can see that I’ve paired it with a vanilla card base.  The flower is heat embossed in Gina K Designs Rose Gold embossing powder and I just love the color and shimmer of that powder.  I used some Altenew inks and a water brush to add a soft palette of colors on the flower itself and then I fussy cut around the flower.  I used Altenew’s Soft Lilac and Lavender Fields and just dragged the ink pads across a scrap of the vanilla card stock and cut out the stitched circle to add behind the flower.

The watercolor flower really blended into the background so the die cut circle made it pop off the background and stand out a bit more.  The flower and sentiment are from the Beautiful Flowers stamp set from the SSS kit.  I white heat embossed the sentiment on a scrap of pink card stock.

The sequins are from the Simon Says Stamp Butterfly Kisses pack.  I love that it has a variety of sizes and colors and some of them are iridescent!

I just loved the Paper Craft Crew card sketch for the week.

I love simple card sketches like this.  There are just so many possibilities with this one.  We would love to have you join us this week and add a card to our challenge link.  We love to see what everyone comes up with using the same sketch.

Thank you so much for stopping by.  I’m looking forward to having more time to devote to my crafting after this week.  I hope you are finding time to do so as well.

It is truly amazing how relaxing it is!
