Stampin’ Up!s Flower Shop

By | 06/18/2013

I’m becoming obsessed with framelits.  I love my Big Shot!!!  Stampin’ Up! has added some amazing framelit sets in the new catalog.  I have always loved the Apothecary Accents framelits with the Labels framelits coming in at a close second.  Now there’s the Deco Label framelits.  Amazing.  Add this to the new magnetic platform to hold the framelits in place on the Big Shot and it’s like heaven in a stamp room.  I’ve been meaning to play with the new Flower Shop stamp set that coordinates with the Pansy Punch… I know!  Another coordinating set sold in a bundle so I saved 15%!.  I’m lovin’ it!!!

I couldn’t decide which framelits to use or which image to use, so I made two cards!

flower shopBoth cards are made on Daffodil Delight card stock cut at 5-1/2 x 8-1/2″, scored and folded at 4-1/4″.  Each has Island Indigo and Whisper White card stock along with the new Gingham Garden Designer Series Paper.  I also used Island Indigo, Pear Pizzazz and Daffodil Delight ink on each card.  Both cards have the Pear Pizzazz Taffeta ribbon and large rhinestones.  Both also use the Flower Shop stamp set and the pansy punch, the Itty Bitty Banners stamp set and framelits and the Happy Day stamp set.

The differences?  The top card uses a 2″ wide piece of the dsp with a whisper white mat punched using the scallop ribbon border punch.  It also uses the Deco Label framelits that are NEW and exciting!!!  There are several sizes so you can layer them beautifully.

The bottom card uses the Apothecary Accents framelits which don’t layer perfectly, although I think it’s fun to come up with different ways to add that bottom mat layer.  Additionally, it uses a piece of dsp cut at 4 x 5-1/4″.  You can see I used different images from the flower shop stamp set as well.

It would be hard for me to pick one I like better than the other!  I will be using all of these elements again to see what else I can come up with!!!  The flower shop set has 6 images that are all quite different and you can see the different touches they add to each card.  The framelits…I love them both!  We’ll see which ones I grab more often over the next few weeks!!!

I love these 2 cards. I am beginning to think that framelites are the way to go. I am running out of storage space for my punches and would still like more circle, scalloped and square ones. Do you think I would be able to substitute them for the punches? I am Dying for a Big Shot with the magnetic plate, but will have to wait until later to get one. My cuttlebug just can’t handle the kind of cutting and embossing I am doing now. Keep up the great videos and tutorials.

I really love my framelits and my Big Shot. I will be making a video this weekend on the magnetic platform. Now that summer vacation is here, I plan to make a series of big shot videos. Since Stampin’ Up! that now has the circle, square and oval framelits, I do find myself moving away from the punches more. I also love the new shapes that they have come out with as well. Isn’t that deco label set amazing?! Plus, I keep my big shot right next to me so it is very convenient to use. Keep in mind that when you do decide to purchase the big shot, the magnetic platform and one set of framelits, your order will qualify for hostess benefits and you’ll get $25 of free stuff…that’s another set of framelits! I still have punches that I will never part with!
