Sunday Sip And Share Card Creations

By | 10/09/2016

As you know, I’ve been participating in a lot of card sketch challenges lately.  I’ve tried sketches from all different websites and I have used quite a variety of new sketches in the last two weeks.  I’m having fun seeing what I can come up with using someone else’s sketch and then seeing how other stamper’s interpret those same sketches or color challenges.

Today I created two cards using the last two sketches from the Sunday Sip and Share from Coffee Loving Cardmaker’s website.

This is my first one and by far my favorite.  I love the Night of Navy with the Copper foil and embossing touches.  I love making fall themed cards since it’s my favorite season.

I’ve used the Vintage Leaves stamp and framelit set on watercolor paper and a watercolor wash with Pumpkin Pie, Old Olive and Crushed Curry.  I embossed the copper foil leaves with the woodgrain embossing folder, one of my old favorite standby embossing folders.

The cup and sentiment are from a past Paper Pumpkin kit.  The designer paper is the Paisleys and Posies specialty designer paper and this is one of the specialty sheets with the copper foil dots. LOVE it!!  The copper is just a perfect touch for fall.

Here is the sketch from Coffee Loving Cardmakers Sunday Sip and Share Challenge that I started with:

Isn’t this a great sketch?  I couldn’t resist!  Can you see the possibilities for holiday cards with this also?

The second sketch was more challenging for me to visualize with the stamp sets that I have.

I stuck with the copper foil and the specialty paper.  I realized that I don’t have enough great coffee cups and sentiments in my stash!  I pulled out the old retired Stampin’ Up! Perfect Blend set for the sentiment, but the other images come from a Simon Says Stamp Winter Warmth set that I picked up during a sale this summer.  I just loved all of the images in that set!

Here you can see that I’ve used an Early Espresso background and ink with a pop of Real Red.  I used some of the fabulously soft burlap ribbon, but I cut it in half to wrap around the card front.  I still love that sentiment!!!

Here is the sketch that I used from last week’s Sunday Sip and Share challenge:

clc_1It’s always fun to play with new card layouts.  Sometimes, you get stuck in color ruts or card layout ruts and the best way to get your creativity flowing is a good sketch challenge!

Gorgeous creations! I just love the fairy floss on the first one and the yummy twine on the second card. Thanks so much for playing with our sketches this month! I’m excited you decided to play along! 🙂
