Tell Me This Isn’t Too Cute!

I’ve been hoping for time to play with the Owl Builder Punch again.  I wanted an excuse to try making penguins.  How cute is this?

I was trying to decide what to do with that little penguin that I built when I remembered that the new sketch for the Paper Craft Crew Challenge was up!  Not only did they make it a sketch challenge, they made it a color challenge.  I’m not sure that I would have chosen to put that Summer Starfruit in this card if it had not been for the color challenge, but I like it!

Here is the sketch I had to work from:

And the color challenge:

My card is created on a Whisper White card base cut 5-1/2 x 8- 1/2″, and scored at 4-1/4″.  I used the Marina Mist card stock for the bottom and the same color from the Designer Series Polka Dot Parade #126902).  I did use a piece of polka dot Designer Series Paper in the Summer Starfruit In Color series (#126910).  Notice that I only left a 1/8″ border under that square of Whisper White!  I used the Merry sentiment from the Pennant Parade stamp set (#122742) along with the little snowflake stamp, which is stamped very lightly behind the penguin.  You also see Real Red ribbon, Cherry Cobbler baker’s twine, a brad and 3 basic pearls to finish it off.

The Owl Builder Punch (#118074) really does make some adorable creatures!  It’s a little time consuming, but you get a really whimsical card!
