Two Minute Quick Tip For Adhering Intricate Die Cuts

By | 05/28/2016

Here is a quick tip to adhere an intricate die cut to your card for a clean and elegant look.

Sadly, I needed another sympathy card today.  I really wanted a clean and simple, yet elegant card.

I chose to use the Rose Wonder Photopolymer Bundle for this card.

Since this is an intricate thinlet die, my first attempt at adhering the die cut to the card base using the fine tip glue really left me with a mess of glue showing even though I was very careful to get a tiny amount of glue on the die cut.

It was just too much to remove with my adhesive remover.

For my second attempt, I used the Sizzix Adhesive Sheets and these worked beautifully!

You can see the difference in the card on the right.  Not only are there no glue smears, the entire piece is sticking to the card base!

How pretty is this card?  I also decorated the inside because the Rose Wonder set has some lovely sentiments for inside the card as well as the outside.

Here is a quick video tutorial to show you how to use the adhesive sheets:

The sheets that I used are Sizzix Adhesive 12 x 12″ sheets.  Stampin’ Up! no longer carries them unfortunately.  I’m hoping that in the next catalog, they bring them back or have a comparable item available.  They are handy to have in your craft stash for projects like these.

I hope you found this tip helpful!

Thank you for stopping by!

Thank you for making this video. I have the paper and the die set. You are so correct in the fact that the sticky paper is the way to go. This makes the die rose look so much nicer. I Have also had trouble with gluing the roses on. I will be making some of these sympathy cards, Thank again for this tip.

Thank you!! It is a surprising difference with the adhesive sheet. It goes from looking like a handmade card to an elegant card that you are proud to send!
