Use Nuvo Crackle Mousse With Catherine Pooler’s Vitamin Sea To Create A Quick Card

I found a new medium that I am totally in love with!  NUVO Crackle Mousse.  I’ve been a fan of the NUVO Embellishment Mousse for a long time and I’ve done a couple of videos using those. These new Crackle Mousse mediums are super fun!

My first experiment involved just smearing it on a card with my palette knife to see how it behaves.  I smeared on a layer and let it dry, then smeared a second color over that one and let it dry!  It’s amazing!Use Nuvo Crackle Mousse With Catherine Pooler's Vitamin Sea To Create A Quick Card

This is simply beautiful!

I was able to layer the second color on top before the first was perfectly dry.  I was also able to attach the die cuts that I created with Catherine Pooler’s Vitamin Sea stamp set before the top dried with a foam dot.  I left the entire piece to sit overnight and the crackle was amazing!!

I used this week’s Paper Craft Crew sketch challenge to create my layout.  I LOVE this sketch.  It’s super Clean and Simple (CAS)!

I used several recent trends on this card.  I have the black and white image with a touch of color in just one part of the stamping.  I also have the splatters and I’ve created a mixed media card.

Isn’t that sentiment fantastic?  Salt water really does heal everything.  I can’t tell you what almost 5 months in Florida sitting on the porch in front of a salt water canal did to heal my soul after I retired.  I was so burned out and just taking time to sit and watch the water and the wildlife for an hour every single day truly healed me.

Now, I did get some warping as this card dried. I’ve used a 110 lb white card stock here and it still warped.  I used an adhesive sheet to stick this to a piece of craft foam and then stuck that to the card base.  I got one little wrinkle that I couldn’t remove to the left of the crackle mousse.  Next time I will adhere this to a piece of craft foam and try it again to see if that helps prevent the warping.  Mixed media paper would probably do the trick as well.

Check out the sketch challenge:

This sketch is another keeper for me.  You can see that I used the two layers of crackle mousse instead of washi tape or paper strips.  My seaweed and fish take the place of the puzzle piece.  I’ve added splatters to complete the card and that fantastic sentiment. I placed it so that the sentiment and the image move diagonally across the card in the middle third of the card diagonally.

I will be playing with more techniques using this Crackle Mousse so stay tuned!  I can’t wait to try it with a stencil.
