Wreath of Roses and a SIP Sketch Challenge

By | 01/18/2018

There have been a lot of new stamp companies popping up over the last several years and somehow my subconscious is telling me that I must try them all!

My stamp today comes from the Lil’ Inker Designs company.  I ordered 3 stamp sets and 3 dies.  The Wreath of Roses stamp set that I used today has a coordinating die set.  I love this set.  I has this beautiful wreath image and 8 sentiments that are beautiful.

I stamped the image in Memento ink and then used my Stampin’ Blends to color in the flowers.  I did not even try to blend them, I just colored in the lighter color of the pair and added some darker color to the base of each petal.  The sentiment is heat embossed in gold for some bling.

I definitely need to practice placing my die over the stamped image to center it better.  This is one set I will enjoy playing with.  I can’t wait to try a watercolor technique on this one.  So many possibilities!

The fabulous background paper is Stampin’ Up!’s Petal Passion Designer Paper and it is all black and white.  The great thing about this paper is that it can be colored using your Stampin’ Blends or whichever alcohol markers you have.  During my trip to Utah a couple of years ago to the Stampin’ Up! headquarters, I had the opportunity to participate in an alcohol marker workshop with one of Stampin’ Up!’s ink experts.  It was amazing!!!!

The other die cuts are actually from the Petals and More Thinlets Die set from the same Petal Passion suite of products in the Occasions catalog.  This set is a beauty!

I bet you’re wondering where my glitter enamel dots are!  I forgot to put them on the card!!!

What can I say!  I get up at 5 AM and it’s pushing 9:30 PM and I’m definitely not firing on all cylinders at the moment!

I designed my card using this week’s Stamp, Ink, Paper Sketch for their SIP Challenge 133.

It’s a wonderful clean and simple sketch.  I’m not sure that my card can be defined as clean and simple, but I loved the sketch when I saw it and had to play along!

Thank you for stopping by!  Happy crafting and remember to embrace your imperfections!

***UPDATE:  This card was selected by the design team at Stamp, Ink, Paper Challenge as one of the winners for this challenge!

I’m super excited about that!  Thank  you to the design team for selecting my card!
