Easily Create a Stampin’ Up! Simply Sent Gift Card Box!

By | 01/24/2013

The Simply Sent Kit that you can get for free during the Stampin’ Up! Sale-a-Bration promotion from January to March 22 can be used as more than just a card set.  I used one of the cards to make a top for a gift card box.  I plan to create a set of cards for a friend and I always love to package them in a pretty way.  Here is a really simple idea!

simplysentboxWith the Simply Sent Kit, you get 8 cards and envelopes and some embellishments to decorate the cards.  I didn’t use the embellishments in the kit, I used the Sycamore Street Designer Series Paper and the Sycamore Street Ribbon and Buttons.  All of these are choices you have for free items from the Sale-a-Bration Brochure.

To create my box, I used a piece of crumb cake card stock scored at 1-1/2″ and 7″ along the 8-1/2″ side.  I then scored it at 4-1/2 and 6-1/2″ on the 11″ side.  I snipped the center tabs to create the flaps and folded the box, sealing it with sticky tape.

simplysentboxbaseI scored the card top 2-1/4″ from the card score line toward the back of the card.  The back flap was attached to the back of the box base with sticky strip.  I used Velcro to help keep the box closed.  The DSP paper is cut to cover the front and the sides.  Then I added ribbon, buttons, rhinestones and a sentiment from the Loving Thoughts Stamp Set.

Over the next few days I will be creating the cards to fill the box!  Make sure to stop back to see the cards for all occasions!

journalToday, I created my first page!  I wanted to share it with you.  I used scraps of papers that I had left from other projects.  I added two quotes that I find inspiring!

journalpage1The Honeycomb Embossing Folder is one of the great new products in the Spring Mini, as is the Baja Breeze Core’ dinations paper it is embossed on.  The Swallowtail butterfly image is left over from my card on Tuesday, also from the Spring Mini.   I cut the leftover image with the new oval framelits…yes, in the Spring Mini!!  You can see the free Sycamore Street Papers, Ribbon and Designer Buttons that I used from Sale-a-Bration as well!
