There is no doubt about it! 2020 has left me feeling shipwrecked on a remote island. Thankfully, my husband is on that remote island with me.
The Shipwrecked digital stamp from Star Stampz just seemed like the perfect project for the December Anything Goes Challenge at Star Stampz. It’s the perfect artistic comment on how I think a lot of us are feeling right now!
I enjoyed a morning of coloring this little scene today! The little island needed a blue sky, some fluffy clouds, and a sparkling ocean surrounding it! I also gave her traditional Christmas colors for her outfit since it is December!
How sweet is this little image? How much can you relate to this little one looking for anyone on the little island in the middle of the sea?
For me, it is the perfect statement to how I’ve felt since March! I couldn’t resist coloring this image.
I added the sky and the sea. I made the sea very sparkly because I still feel hopeful for a better year to come. I added the “I Miss You” sentiment because that applies to absolutely everyone I know. I miss everyone!
The secret to that sparkly water is the white gel pen. I make dots and + signs all around and it really looks sparkly! The water appears to have movement if you give your color flicks a few curves and add the darker blue to the back and sparsely throughout.
I gave the sand texture by stippling with 4 different colors. I love adding a little texture to sandy scenes. One of the other design team members actually made her island grassy! I thought about making it grassy and surrounding it by sand and then water, but alas…this year feels like we are adrift alone at sea.
