I have a very happy card to share today!
If you are a regular blog reader, you know that I am on the design team for Kinda Cute by Patricia and I LOVE it! Patricia had a special deal at the end of December for her January Digi-of-the-Day. She’s creating a digital image for every day in January and if you took advantage of her special, you will be receiving those in your email each day! Lucky you!
I took up her challenge when she asked the design team if we wanted to let her select the images we would be coloring for this month! Yes I did want her to select them! When I browse through all of here images (there are almost 1500 of them!), I get distracted early on and never end up making it to the end of the list!
Plus…I love surprises!
Here is the card I made with today’s image which is called Boy Picking Flowers.
The image included the boy with the flower, the basket, some little grass sprigs and a mouse. I added the rocks, grass, clouds and sky, and the stone path.
I LOVE adding the backgrounds in with my Copics. It feels like I’m really being artistic and I love adding my own details to the digital images because it really helps to make it my creation.
It’s pretty nice to start out with a fun image and this little guy is just adorable!
I cut my image scene down to 3-3/4 x 5″ and added it to a Lawn Fawn patterned paper from my stash that was cut to 4 x 5-1/4″. For my card base, I’m trying some colored card stock from Cardstock Warehouse. this is the Sirio Color Blu 80 lb. Cover stock. I actually love the color and the weight of the paper is nice too. It’s a nice bright navy that works well with that coral red I put on top of it.
Cardstock Warehouse had quite a variety of papers to choose from so I had a little trouble deciding which ones to try. I had a nice coupon from their Black Friday/Cyber Monday sale, so I decided to stock up on a few colors that I knew I would use. This package worked out to about 32 cents a sheet before I applied the discount. I’ve been shopping around for the best card stock prices and these aren’t too bad and the paper is nice quality. I ended up getting a few colors from several of their lines just to try them out. I managed to get a couple of variety packs with multiple colors of card stock to try. I still have another coupon to use in the next few months, so I’ll see how I like this and let you know!
