Create An Ink Blended Sky For A Quick Christmas Card

By | 10/14/2021

I love doing a nice ink blended sky background for a night scene Christmas card.

The Vertical Christmas Greetings stamp set from Maker Forte would be a nice and easy set to create mass produced cards.

I used Bristol smooth paper cut at 3-3/4 x 5″ and added Mustard Seed, Picked Raspberry, Blueprint Sketch, and Black Soot distress oxides to my blend.

I spritzed it with water using my new Mister Perfect mister bottle.  I quite like the larger size of this bottle and the versatility of the spray nozzle.  I was easily able to get a fine mist and some bigger spots depending on how much I depressed the spray lever.

The Santa scene is a solid stamp that I stamped in Eclipse Black ink.  The same in is used to create the vertical greeting banners. I trimmed those close to the sentiment and gave them a diagonal cut at the bottom.

I placed the ink blended panel on a piece of Doctor Blue cut at 4 x 5-1/4.  The black layer is cute at 4-1/8 x 5-3/8″ and the white base is 5-1/2 x 8-1/2″, scored and folded at 4-1/4″.

The final touch is 5 Solar Flare Crown Jewel Gems!
