This week’s Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge offers another sketch to utilize those left over strips of paper you have sitting on your desk.
I was not a fan of this sketch when I saw it. Using up strips of paper scraps is not my forte and my cards always end up with too many layers for my taste.
I pulled out one of the papers from my Florals in Bloom DSP set. I decided to pick something with a more subdued pattern. I really like the paper I chose, but for some reason, I struggled to match two colors of cardstock to it that I thought looked good.
Here is my final card…
I ended up using the Pretty in Pink and Real Red combo after trying 3 different blues and at least one darker pink. None of them worked.
I pulled out the Good Times and Say Something Mix and Match Ephemera Packs. I decided that I wanted a focal image. Once I started to play with ephemera pieces, I pulled out the Pretty in Pink and Real Red strips to coordinate with the ephemera bits I finally settled on.
I like the end color combo, although I’m still not a fan of my card.
I will put it aside and look at it again tomorrow and see if I like it better. Stepping away from a project always gives a new perspective!
I would love to know what you think!
Make sure you check out the other cards created by the rest of the design team and participants. They are really lovely!!
Have a wonderful day!
