The Quint-Essential Flower stamp was on my wish list the moment I opened the Stampin’ Up! catalog! This one stamp has incredible potential for color and creativity! I created a set of 4 cards and a card holder in less than an hour.
I make no secret about how much I love layers for cards and scrapbooks! Early in my stamping days, I took several card making and stamping classes at a stamp store about an hour from my house. In one of the classes, we used photocopied images of really detailed stamps. We then cut apart the layers with a craft knife, a terribly frightening device in my hands! Seriously, card making has come a long way! This stamp reminded me of the layered images that we make!
The Quint-Essential Flower stamp is a single wood mount only stamp (#126790) that is retiring and will only be available until June 3! For $8.95, you can get a single stamp that you can turn in to several images.
For this set, I stamped the image several times in each of the In Colors. Then I used various circle punches to punch out the different layers of this image. Then I mixed and matched them, putting them together with Stampin’ Dimensionals! This is one of my favorite types of stamps to work with! Instead of layering them, you could create a background with several different sizes of flowers using different parts of the stamped image just from this one stamp!
Combine this with pretty papers and a beautiful sentiment and you’ve got an amazing set of cards! (Using circle punches instead of a craft knife to cut apart the layers not only makes this much quicker to make, but SAFER!)
