Papillon Potpourri CASED Card!

Papillon Potpourri has to be one of Stampin’ Up!s most popular stamp sets. I’ve seen so many different card ideas using this stamp set and I decided that I would CASE (copy and share everything) one of them. I love taking a card or a sketch that someone else has made and then put my own touches on it. I picked one of my favorite cards from one of my Pinterest boards and let it inspire me!

Card Details:

Papers and Inks: Whisper White, Strawberry Slush, Pistachio Pudding

Stamp Sets: Perfectly Penned (Thank You), Sassy Salutations (Thinking of You) and Papillon Potporri

Accessories: Elegant Butterfly Punch, Rhinestones, Strawberry Slush and Pistachio Pudding Stretch Trim Ribbon

This is a very quick and simple card to make! I cut the Whisper White at 2 x 4-1/4, stamped my sentiment and butterfly in the same colors, and then punched out the butterfly. I added my ribbon to the edges of my white card stock and then glued it to my card base (cut at 4-1/4 x 11″, scored and folded at 5-1/2″). The card stock and ink are done in the same color and I used the second color for my ribbon. I then added the butterfly to the center of the punched out space using glue dots and added a few rhinestones.

You can see that the Perfectly Penned sentiment is a more elegant font, while the Sassy Salutations are much more fun and casual. I really love the simplicity of this card!!! Imagine creating different combinations of the In Colors using the exact same card design and a different sentiment. You can have an entire set of cards done in a very short time and it would make a great set of cards to give as a gift!

I bet you’re wondering what changes I made to the card idea that I started with! I completely changed the colors..mostly because I wanted to add the ruffled stretch ribbon trim! I love this ruffled ribbon sticking out under the layers above it! I also added the rhinestones. What is a butterfly without bling? GASP! It’s honestly unthinkable! Forget I asked!
