I tried a new challenge today. I made a 3D item from a template! My sister just loves these little purse templates and she’s sent me a bunch of them. I have never made one because I haven’t seen the appeal! I decided to take the challenge and make one today. I found a template created by Selene Kempton that she is selling to raise money for her daughter’s education. As a teacher, I couldn’t resist purchasing the template for such a good cause! Here is my challenge entry:
I’m still not convinced, but at least I have my sister’s gift card holder made and ready for her Christmas gift! It will get used and it is kind of cute, but it’s still a tiny purse made of paper. (Sorry, I’m a Dooney and Bourke girl myself!)
Materials: Summer Starfruit card stock, Designer Series Paper in Floral District, a button, two brads, ribbon and some snail.
All in all, it is a cute way to give a gift card to someone instead of sticking it in a tiny envelope. It would be great for a small treat bag as well with a few candies in it as a party favor. It might even make a great project for little girls to make for their American Girl Dolls. They could make a purse to match every outfit!
