Bouquet Builder 2 With Copics

By | 04/16/2019

It’s nice to have a few minutes to sit down and create.  I have had so little time lately to spend in my studio.  It feels good when you finally have some time!

I pulled out a Waffle Flower Bouquet Builder 2 stamp set that I have had for a bit and have not had the chance to use.

I purposely bought it to watercolor with and to practice my alcohol marker techniques.

I created this card using the Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge for this week.

I love that the floral images (this is one of 3 in the set) are large and they give you space to blend.  I also love the giant font on the sentiments in this set!

The patterned paper is from MFT Stamps and it is one of my favorites.  A whole package of black and white stripes is heaven. I think they go with everything!

I added some black and white spatters and some clear sequins to finish off the card.  The base of the card is light gray card stock from Simon Says Stamp.

I topped it off with some sparkle pen and called it a day.

I love the sparkle!

Building a bouquet with copicsAs I was looking at the other design team members cards, I realized that I have been looking at these sketches incorrectly.  The entire thing is the sketch, not just the center rectangle layout.  I used just the center part and flipped it vertically.

I like to change up the sketches and I’ve started editing details so that I can keep my cards as close to a single layer and as clean and simple as possible.

I’m happy that you stopped by.  I’m off for the next several days to visit my daughter in Michigan.  Her birthday is next week and she’s been going on a crazy number of job interviews and she’s been working on her graduate thesis.  A few days to relax together before the final push to finish her degree will be a nice change for both of us.

After that, I’m off to Florida to meet with our contractor to make the selections for the house we are building in Florida.  We are getting ready to retire and building the house is a huge leap forward toward that goal.  Less than 9 months to go…but who’s counting?!

I will see you in a week.  Happy Easter!
