Christmas Poinsettia

Large flower images and large medallion images are two of my favorite things!  Is there anything prettier that a Christmas Poinsettia?

Stamping Imperfection Stamp of Approval Winterhaven

I couldn’t resist trying out some of Catherine Pooler’s new stamps.  I purchased her last Stamp of Approval kit that included her Winterhaven Collection.  The poinsettia came from the ‘Tis the Season Stamp Set and the sentiment came from the Here We Come A-Caroling stamp set.  I just love this collection.  It’s truly timeless.

I stamped it in Stampin’ Up!’s real red, crushed curry and tranquil tide inks.  What a nice combination of colors for the season.  The embellishments are Stampin’ Up!’s Glitter Enamel Dots.  I’ve fallen in love with those.  They sparkle!!!  What’s not to love about that?!

Again I’ve created a clean and simple design.  This one will mail nicely without any bows or thick felt embellishments.

Admittedly, it was hard for me to leave ribbon off this card.  I love ribbon and believe all crafting should involve pretty ribbons and bows.

But alas, much like my soda habit that I’m trying to break…so goes my ribbon habit.  Plus to be perfectly honest:  I have not yet unpacked my ribbons because I can’t find the box holding my ribbon holders from Stamp-n-Storage!!!  I have no place to put them away, so in the box they stay.

I was also excited to try another brand of stamps.  You can never have enough stamps in your stash.  Plus I feel like I can use this forever.  With Stampin’ Up! I always feel forced to stop using retired products because they aren’t for sale anymore.  I know that if you are visiting my blog, you want to case the cards and projects.

My sister is always telling me that she only likes to watch videos and visit blogs that are showing current products that she can purchase right now and then recreate the card or project that she saw.

Unfortunately, I do believe that this stamp collection sold out and is not currently available.  However, I guarantee that you have a poinsettia stamp and a beautiful sentiment that would work for this card design in your stash right now.

I will confess that I do have other poinsettia stamps, but what a great excuse to get a box full of craft goodies in the mail.  I needed this poinsettia stamp!  It’s a collection.  I’m a collector.  It works for me.

Plus my newly unpacked and organized craft room has a shelf just for storing other brands of stamps.  I’m trying them all!  I do after all want to be a craft expert and an expert must try all the stuff.

I did not Christmas shop on Black Friday or Cyber Monday.  I Kim-shopped craft sales.  I’m currently waiting for a box from Stampin’ Up!, Catherine Pooler (gotta try those inks!), My Favorite Things, Unity, and Simon Says.  How did I miss Gina K’s sale?
I’m off to work on my house scrapbook and my December Daily journal/scrapbook.  I’ve been enjoying putting together my latest albums using the pictures that I’ve taken over the last year during the move and home improvement projects.  Will those projects and that unpacking ever be done?  My 2017 New Year’s resolution was to get it all unpacked and to get all of the interior projects done.  Most of my interior projects are done with the exception of the central air and the laundry tub.  I’m waiting on the plumber and the air conditioner guy.  (I’m getting an 8% discount for doing the central air during the “off” season.  It will be worth the wait.)

I’m also happy to say that the only unpacking that I have left is my crafting supplies.  I left the me stuff until last and it feels wonderful to focus on my space and to be creating again!!

I hope that you are taking time for yourself this season.  Just 15 minutes a day can make a world of difference to your state of mind and to your well-being.  Take care of yourself.

Thank you for stopping by!!
