I love my Stampin’ Up! Stamp Shammy!  It’s flexible, affordable, and durable.  You can squeeze it into tiny spots on your stamps to clean them.  It is the easiest way to clean stamps and stamp positioners.Stamp Shammy Free Cover Art

The Stampin’ Shammy from Stampin’ Up! is the only stamp shammy I’ve had that hasn’t gotten stinky and moldy after a couple of days.  It’s a nice thick foam shammy.  You just rinse it out when it gets inky or it needs more moisture to clean your stamps and it keeps working great!

MY TOP TIPS FOR USING YOUR STAMPIN’ SHAMMY:

  1. Store your shammy in a clear stamp case.  It fits perfectly and the case keeps it from drying out for a few days.  You can purchase a set of 4 cases for $9 from Stampin’ Up! or you can reuse and old stamp case or an old DVD case for this purpose.  It keeps it tidy, and you can stand it on a shelf to store!  I recently made myself a case cover decoration that slides into the plastic sleeve surrounding the case just so it looked prettier on my craft table.  You can get that printable below!Stamp Shammy Free Cover Art
  2. You can take your shammy to the sink to rinse it out every few days as needed.  The inks will stain your shammy! Once I give it a good rinse, I have found that those inks don’t transfer to my stamps.
  3. You can also throw your shammy in the washing machine to freshen it up.  It won’t get rid of all the stains, but it comes out smelling like fresh laundry.  I just wash mine with my towels and regular laundry pods and I have had no issue with inks transferring to my towels.
  4. Keep it damp with water and just rub your stamps on the damp shammy to clean them off.
  5. I use water to clean my stamps unless they a really gunky and the shammy with the water isn’t getting them clean. If you have stubborn stains on your stamps, I recommend periodically using a spritz of Stampin’ Up!’s Stampin’ Spritz stamp cleaner on your stamp and then rub it on your stamp shammy.  If it’s really bad, sometimes I use a little Dawn dish soap and a toothbrush to clean all the stamp nooks and crannies and run it under water to rinse.

I created this case cover insert so I wouldn’t have to look at the stained shammy!  I am sharing it with you if you are interested! (Of course, you can always stamp a case cover or use the new ephemera sets to create something you love as well!)

HOW TO USE THE STAMP SHAMMY CASE INSERT:

  1. Download the PDF File to your computer. StampingImperfection_StampShammyCaseCoverFreebie
  2. Print the PDF on to card stock in your home printer. (It looks very nice on Very Vanilla! I show mine in basic white above.)
  3.  Cut the cover piece out.  I designed it so it is just shy of 5 x 7″, so if you cut just along the black border, it should fit perfectly in your case.
  4. Slide the cover piece into the plastic sleeve that surrounds your stamp case.  Tuck it into the corners as you do this.  It should be a perfect fit.  If not, trim to fit.
