I have a confession. After participating in the Mojo Monday sketch challenge last week, I browsed the Verve online store to see what kinds of goodies that sell.
I found a fantastic stamp set called Autumn Blessings that had a coordinating die set called Autumn Thanks. Of course I purchased the bundle! It came within two days with some free designer paper and enamel dots tucked into the package. Of course, I will be ordering from them again!
I decided to use the set that I purchased to participate in this week’s Mojo Monday sketch challenge and a challenge it was!
The sketch had a lot of elements to it. This is not a clean and simple card, but I so love the fall colors and I’ve been anxious to use my new bundle from Verve.
I was happy to find a stamp set with a lot of sentiments for fall and Thanksgiving. That was something that I thought was missing from this year’s Stampin’ Up! Holiday Catalog. Not enough fall stamp sets and sentiments. Tons of Halloween, but not enough Thanksgiving!
Here is the Mojo Monday sketch that I started with:
My colors include Crushed Curry, Old Olive, Pumpkin Pie, Cajun Craze, Very Vanilla, Soft Suede and Rich Razzleberry. I love the Rich Razzleberry ribbon. It comes in a trio pack with a roll of Mint Macaron and Delightful Dijon. The sentiment is punched with the Classic Label punch. I’ve also used a variety of enamel dots in the same colors as my papers and inks.
I love purchasing a stamp set and coordinating die set. One difference that I did find between the Verve dies and the Stampin’ Up! dies is that the Verve dies need to be cut apart. My wire cutters were to thick to get in between the pieces to cut them apart and I ruined a pair of scissors trying to get them apart without bending them. There were no directions on the package as to how to separate them. If anyone has advice on how to easily do that without having the sharp bits sticking out, please leave a comment below.
I love the stamp sets and dies! (Although, I still love Stampin’ Up! more!). It was fun to use a different product and test out what else is out there. I will most definitely be using this set to create some fun table decor for my Thanksgiving dinner this year.
Thank you for visiting today!
Very nice card, and what a wonderful stamp set, I have not ever checked out what they sell either, I’m a fan of stampin up as well, but after reading your lovely blog I too will check it out. Great job on the card.
