This week’s Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge has the following sketch:
I started by cutting a Cherry Cobbler and a Shaded Spruce mat to 4 x 5-1/4″. I lined the diagonal up with the track on my trimmer and cut each piece in half diagonally. Then I gently turned the cut pieces so the other diagonal lined up with the trimmer track and made my second cut. This gave me 4 triangles from each of my card stock mats.
I was able to then create my background by gluing two green and two red triangles to a white mat cut at 4 x 5-1/4″. This entire panel was then attached to my 5-1/2 x 8-1/2″ card base that I scored and folded at 4-1/4″.
I created a white panel cut at 2-1/2 x 4-1/2″ by adding some ink blending to create a snowy feeling background with a little bit of masking. I used Fresh Freesia ink for my background.
I pulled out the Ornamental Christmas stamp and die set to create a tree with a star on top. I used some white glimmer paper to make the star. I also pulled out a few Stampin’ Blends to color in my tree. I die cut the tree and star out and popped them on some dimensionals. These got attached to the snowy background.
I stamped the sentiment directly on the panel in black and I added some white splatter with my White Craft Ink refill and a water brush.
I added this to a black panel cut at 2-5/8 x 4-5/8″ and popped the entire panel up on dimensionals before adding it to my card base.
Easy peasy!
