This week’s Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge is all about using those paper strips you have sitting in a pile somewhere in your craft room!
I actually don’t have a big pile of paper strip scraps sitting around, so I decided to try a twist on this sketch.
I pulled out one sheet of pretty Beautiful Gallery Designer Series Paper and started to cut it into strips. I was very careful to keep the strips in order so that I could easily place them back together on my card base.
I used a piece of Cloud Cover for the card base and a piece of Secret Sea to build my focal image with the strips that I cut. I left spaces between them so you could see the contrasting color between the strips.
The sentiment is from the Wonderful Thoughts stamp set. I stamped it in Secret Sea ink on white card stock. I used a piece of Cloud Cover about 1/8″ larger to serve as a banner behind the white banner with the sentiment. A tiny bow using black Baker’s Twine and some Secret Sea embellishments finished off the card.
I like this twist on the sketch since I didn’t have a pile of strips that would work for the card the way the sketch was intended.
Make sure to stop by the challenge blog to see what other design team members and participants created from their craft stash. We would love to have you join us for the challenge!!
Thank you for stopping by!
