Simple Card Making: Use Patterned Paper and a Card Sketch for Inspiration

By | 10/09/2024

Did you ever have one of those days where you just lacked the inspiration you needed to get started on a project?

Too many times!

When I want to craft, but lack the mojo, I pull out my patterned paper scraps and card sketches.  It’s a great starting point!

I created this card today:

Splendid Autumn Card

I used one of the card templates in the Annual Catalog.

CardTemplate10

I recreated the template with Canva.

I used a corner of one of the patterned papers in the Splendid Autumn paper pack and added it to a piece of Very Vanilla card stock.  I used a Pecan Pie scrap to create the banner piece.  I used some twine to create the loops and added it to a Very Vanilla card base.  A few Solid Gems and a sentiment finished off the card.

Measurements:

  • Card Base: Notecard 5 x 7″, scored and folded at 3-1/2″
  • Very Vanilla mat: 2-1/2 x2-3/4″
  • Pecan Pie banner: 2 x 3-1/4″
  • Designer Series Paper: 2-1/4 x 2-1/2″Splendid Autumn Card

I also made several other cards using more of these templates:

I had another one as well, but alas, I sent it to my Son-in-Law for his birthday last week and forgot to snap a photo!

This Splendid Autumn paper makes it so easy to create beautiful cards.  You just need to add a sentiment and a decoration or two!  So simple!
