Oh yeah! It’s time for this month’s scrapbook challenge from Challenge YOUrself!
I had so much fun with this challenge!
I happened to plan my projects for this month with a goal of using up my patterned paper scraps for the last 5 months. I pulled out all the scraps and tidied them up. I pulled out a kraft notebook in an A5 size. I used one sheet of the two left over pieces of the To the Market DSP and decorated the outside of the notebook.
I made 20 traveler’s notebook double page layout sketches to play with while I use up those patterned papers and create a fall journal/memory album/art journal.
I always have at least one traveler’s notebook project going at all times. This notebook is slightly wider than the usual notebooks that I use and I’m loving the wider pages. I bought a package of 16 of these 5-1/2 x 8-1/4″ notebooks with vintage-colored spines over Prime Days during the Back-to-School sales. You can check those out here: Kraft Notebooks .

Check out my layout:
My left over DSP is all spring and summer colors. In an effort to make if feel more like fall paper, I had some fun with my craft stash goodies.
I stenciled the yellowy-orange paper with Pumpkin Pie ink and a pumpkin stencil. I love the final result, and it definitely feels like fall paper now.
I had a 6 x 6″ background stamp for fall, and I used that with Blackberry Bliss ink of the pastel purple paper. It worked so well!!
I used some patterned paper as photo mats in my layout. I also used some scrap strips with my banner punches to create a strip to anchor my title. You can also see that I used a circle punch and a label punch to create some shapes to tuck behind my photo.
My images and ephemera are from the Not 2 Shabby shop. These are products that I purchased last year and never had time to use.
I also created a 3 x 4″ card using the Caring Leaves stamp set from Stampin’ Up! and one of the sentiments from a new Catherine Pooler stamp set I just got from her latest release.
I loved the end result. I had a lot of fun trying some new things with patterned paper. I happily discovered that I can use lots of simple techniques to create my own unique patterned paper.
We would love to have you join us for the challenge. You can post a photo of your scrapbook layout on Facebook and link it to the challenge. Remember that the one rule is that YOU have to be in the photo!!
Have a great day!! Thank you for stopping by!
