The double page layout that I am sharing today is made using the soon to be released Lovely Florals Scrapbook Workshop Kit from Stampin’ Up! I also CASEd a double page scrapbook layout that we made during Stampin’ Up!’s Virtual Album Retreat. I used the July layout as an inspiration for my layout here today. I added some of my own touches and created it with completely different supplies, but the basic layout was inspired by the artists at SU!
I used a much busier patterned paper for the base of this page. I absolutely love florals and this particular paper is the reason that I purchased this kit!
I added the numbers using old alphabet sets. I also added some details using the Lovely Florals stamp set that coordinates with the kit and I used a few bits from the stamp sets that came with the Virtual Album Retreat kit.
The Lovely Florals kit had so many beautiful stickers and die cuts. There were several journaling boxes and lots of title opportunities. I added some sentiment stickers and a secondary title piece on the second page of this layout as well.
I don’t usually divide my page in half with my patterned papers like this, but I actually really liked the end result of doing just that today!
This layout takes me out of my comfort zone in several ways. The biggest reason it is outside my comfort zone is that the two pages of this layout are completely different from each other.
I usually make two pages that are laid out the same, but flipped like a mirror image. This layout does a nice job of creating a cohesive picture by using the same papers, colors, and stamps and dies from one page to the next without having to use the same layout for both pages.
I need to do more of this with my own designs.
I also used the numbering technique like I did in yesterday’s blog post. I labeled each photo with a number that coordinates on one of the journaling spaces on the layouts. The journaling can then be very specific for each photo on the layout. I really love this technique!
