I’m really loving the Advent Calendar that Stampin’ Up! came out with this year. What a nice treat for myself! I’m spending several hours each day playing with the goodies that have been included in the reveals so far.
Here is today’s reveal:
The Day 2 gift was designer series paper! We got 20 sheets of single sided paper that coordinates with the stamps and dies.
You can see the patterns here! There are two of each pattern in the gift.
I selected 3 sheets of the paper to create with for today and ended up making 6 cards.
This was the start of the first 4 cards using two of the papers. I love daisies, so it was a no brainer to pick a sheet of that along with one of the green sheets. I cut a 4 x 5-1/4″ panel and then cut it on each diagonal. I did this to both sheets and that set me up for two triangle background cards. I had two pieces of each left at 2 x 6″. I cut those into 2″ squares. I used 4 squares to create another background. You will see what I did with the leftover 2″ squares for a 4th card in the last photo.
I also had 2 pieces of 3/4 x 4″ left that I used to decorate the inside of two of these cards. I used the entire sheet of both papers!
Here are my finished cards! I used Petal Pink, Crushed Curry, and Pecan Pie ink to stamp my florals. I used black and Secret Sea ink for the sentiments. The butterfly is stamped in Misty Moonlight and Secret Sea for the body. One of the cards has a 3/4 x 4″ strip of leftover dsp that I used to decorate the inside of the card.
For the blue cards, I used a 4 x 5-1/4″ panel for a background on one card. I trimmed the other piece to use on the second blue card. That was trimmed to 2 x 5-1/2″. I love all the cards!
I added some ribbon and embellishments from my stash, along with some white, Basic Beige and Secret Sea card stock for card bases and mats.
I snapped this photo so that you could see that the only waste from those 3 sheets of DSP was this little 1/2 x 2″ strip. I’ll find a way to use this before these 12 days are up!
You can still purchase the Advent Calendar from Stampin’ Up! If you need other stamping supplies, you can go to my online shop at ShopWithKim.net!
