Hi friends! I am guest designing on the STAMPlorations blog for the Throwback Thursday feature today. I have 3 cards to share with you today featuring quick and easy backgrounds.
My job is to select an inspiration card from another designer and re-create their card in 3 new ways.
My inspiration card was created by the queen of CAS card design, Tenia Nelson! I’ve long admired Tenia’s distinct style of card making and I have been in awe of her talent for clean and simple designs.
My goal was to add backgrounds to the card while preserving as much white space on the card as possible to keep the CAS feel of the cards.
Check out the card I’m using for my inspiration:
I love this card she created with this fabulous floral digital stamp and a simple paper pierced background. I challenged myself to create something similar with quick and easy backgrounds.
I’ve used the Bloomfully: Kindness stamp set for all of my cards today. I stamped them on watercolor paper and used my Karin Brushmarkers to add color. I cut them down to 3 x 3″ squares and for two of them, I used the same gold embossing technique around the square that Tenia has used in the card she created. What a pretty detail! The third floral image I created was fussy cut out to be added directly onto one of my backgrounds.
Let’s check out what I created using Tenia’s card as inspiration!
