You Can Find Party Panda’s At What Will You Stamp?

By | 02/05/2018

Have you seen the Party Pandas stamp set yet?

It’s adorable and it is this week’s featured stamp set at the What Will You Stamp Challenge blog.

I was invited to be the Guest Designer for the week which I am thrilled about!  They have a talented group of designers and I was excited to have the opportunity to participate as a guest designer!

It is a little bit of pressure though because this is a really adorable stamp set that is FREE during Sale-A-Bration.  There have been designs and cards all over the place for this set.

I needed mine to be special and different from any that I have seen so far.

Enter my die cutting classes…I combined a fun Inlaid Die Cutting Technique with these super cute pandas and added lots of color.

I LOVE this card.  What do you think?

Ugh!  Those pandas are so cute!  As soon as I saw that in the Sale-A-Bration brochure, I knew that I had to have it.

Add some nice colors like Bermuda Bay and Crushed Curry and it really pops!

Here is the challenge that I created this for at What Will You Stamp?

Let me tell  you about my card!  I started by stamping the pandas on to white card stock.  I tried them in two different orders.  I added some color with my Stampin’ Blends.  I can’t put those things down!

I used one as a practice coloring set to see what colors I wanted to use and then the second one was my card front.

I used Stampin’ Up!’s Large Alphabet Dies.  I lined them up on my grid paper and then added temporary adhesive from Altenew on the back of each die.  I then placed a piece of clear window sheet cut the same size as my card front (4-1/4 x 5-1/2″) on top of them to hold them in place.  I used some washi tape to tape the window sheet to the card front so the letters wouldn’t move and then I cut them out on my Big Shot saving all the pieces to add to the card front.Stamping Imperfection Party Pandas and Inlaid Die Cutting

You can see that my window sheet is pretty raggedy since I’ve used it so many times.  I have also drawn lines with a fine tip sharpie and a T-ruler to align dies as well.  I use this for a lot of letter and number die cutting techniques.  This window sheet is tough and can be used over and over.

I mounted the card front on to a piece of Bermuda Bay, added foam adhesive strips to the backs of the letters and then put them in place on the card front in the spaces they had been cut out from.  The center of the “O” did not get foam tape, I glued it down to the Bermuda Bay.  I then added some foam tape to the back of the card front and added it to an A2 card base.

I added some of the Metallic Sequins and I heat embossed the sentiment in white on Bermuda Bay and popped that on to a foam strip as well.

The card has a lot of dimension and color.  I think these pandas must be cute on every card they adorn!

Of course, I did not let the other panel I created go to waste!  I mounted it on to a Bermuda Bay mat and white card base.  I added a sentiment stamped in black ink and got a second card out of the process!

Still cute, even with no special techniques!

Kim, I saw your card on WWYS and loved it. I hope you don’t mind, but I CASED it. I will post my card on my blog-Pandascrapper.blogspot.com and will post that I copied it from you. Mine doesn’t look nearly as cute as yours though. It is for my 25 year old son. He won’t mind the pandas, he’s knows I’m crazy about them.

      Leslie!
I am flattered that you liked it enough to CASE! Those pandas are too adorable not to stamp with. I have no doubt that your son will enjoy the card! Thank you for stopping by and letting me know that you enjoyed the card!
