I have really fallen in love with mini slimline cards. The smaller 3 x 6″ size of the finished card just seems easier lately.
I got the Mini Slimline Oak Leaf Die from Trinity stamps. I just love the stitched detail and all the possibilities of the different ways I can piece these pieces together.
I have 5 cards to share with you today!
All of my cards use card bases create with some specialty cream cardstock that has dark brown flicks for added interest. It’s been in my stash for awhile and it’s perfect for fall cards.
I created 3 card bases that are cut at 6-1/4 x 6-1/2″, scored and folded at 3-1/4″.
For the first card, I simply added the central die cut pieces to the card, keeping all the parts together. I love this card! I think it is my favorite.
All the cards got the same Happy Thanksgiving sentiment from the Autumn Impressions stamp and die set, along with 3 Amber Glow gems.
I actually cut out the mini slimline plate die 5 times from 5 different colors of paper. For this card, I simply adhered one of the panels to the front of the card and then placed the entire leaf die cut piece back into the open spaces. I mixed the colors up and I love the end result.
The third card has the card base cut at 6 x 6″ so the front panel exactly fits the top. For this one, I wanted the specialty cardstock to show through the leaves. I added just the two outline die pieces and again mixed the colors for each one. I like the colorful end results of these cards!
Card 4 uses the inside leaf die cut pieces without the outer outline die piece. You can see just a hint of that background paper around the edge of the leaves. I really like this one too. That Cherry Red paper is my very favorite red cardstock!!
I decided to create a regular sized slimline. I used the specialty size here with the Quilted Slimline Cover Die for a subtle background to one of the panels. I used the panel to create a shaker card.
I added some acetate to the back of the panel with liquid glue and then added 1/8″ foam tape to the back of the panel with the acetate. I added some sequins from my stash and attached this to the card base.
I love that I was able to get such a variety of cards with one simple mini slimline die. It always makes me feel like I am getting my money’s worth when I can create a nice variety of projects with just one product.
